OUR HISTORY + PHILOSOPHY.
Our philosophy is simple. Music is for all. It connects us with others and with ourselves. The exploration and pursuit of music is unifying and rewarding, no matter the age or stage. We are a place for all to feel welcome. A place to learn, collaborate and create. Our goal is to help our students reach their own goals and to guide them with knowledge and support to be bold, artistic vocalists and musicians.
The name Sevcon comes from the two original founders of the school, Sev and Connie. A husband and wife duo, both seasoned musicians, passionate about music and teaching, they began offering vocal lessons from their music-filled home in 1999. It has now been over 22 years since this humble journey began.
Sev was lost to brain cancer in 2010. Always remembered and loved by those who knew him, Sev’s legacy lives on. Connie continues to teach at Sevcon, sharing from her years of experience with our students. Sevcon is now run by their daughter, Renee and her husband Tauese, along with a passionate team of professionals, dedicated both to teaching and to their crafts.
